UnderSec Consortium is a multidisciplinary group composed of 22 partners from 11 different countries.

Company personnel's long-track operational performance, expertise and knowledge, acquired in all these domains, enable it to better foresee specific clients’ needs, understand the current and future challenges, and drive innovation to deliver solutions.

Role in the project/value chain: As a Maritime Security Consulting Company, having a clear perspective of the underwater environment, but also of the operational use of the current state-of-the-art technologies, provides for the required link between Users/ Authorities, research institutions and technology partners for the design, development and testing of UnderSec system.

UNIWA, founded in March 2018 through the merger of the former Technological Educational Institute of Athens, Piraeus University of Applied Sciences, and National School of Public Health, upholds high educational and research standards. It aims to meet modern societal needs by cultivating executives with robust scientific and technological expertise. The Smart Technologies, Renewable Energy Sources & Quality research laboratory (STRESQ-Lab) at UNIWA contributes to the Research and Technology domains. Amongst others, it specializes in industrial design of underwater visual sensing modules, system communications, data harmonization, integration, and production line implementation.

The Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) is a governmental research organization operating under the supervision of the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation. It aims to carry out scientific and technological research, experimental development, dissemination, and implementation of produced results, in the fields of protection the hydrosphere, its organisms, its interface with the atmosphere, the coast and the sea bottom, the physical, chemical, biological and geological conditions that prevail and regulate the above mentioned systems. The operational capabilities are supported by 3 RVs (AEGAEO, FILIA and ALKYON), underwater gliders and 2 ROVs. Also, HCMR exploits and maintain a number of stationary measuring platform (buoys).

DROMON mission is to enhance safety of life, property and the environment at sea through the provision of classification, statutory certification and verification of greenhouse gas emissions having quality oriented services and applying recognized standards with sound technical judgment.

Role project/value chain: Experts in the maritime security and underwater security consulting and compliance domain / Classification Society, Recognized Security Organisation, Compliance Auditing and Certification body SME, providing for system’s compliance with the maritime security legal/regulatory framework and the system’s evaluation methodology development and implementation support. 

SAES is a company committed to Research, Development, and Innovation in the underwater environment. Most of our products have been completely developed in Spain by own engineers and resources, without external technological dependence. In addition, SAES contributes to technology transfer presenting their products at major international events and fairs and collaborating with several organisms and companies.

Our professional services utilize cutting-edge proprietary technologies that exploit drone & UAV capabilities with the help of AI/ML and mission critical software platforms. PROBOTEK is also a major contributor in the open source community.

In addition, ISSNOVA is responsible for the dissemination, communication, and exploitation activities of the UnderSec Project.

EUROPEAN DYNAMICS is a leading Information Technologies service provider and software developer in the field of e-government, operating internationally as a group of companies, with offices and antennas in Athens, Berlin, Basel, Brussels, Copenhagen, London, Luxembourg, Nicosia, Stockholm, etc. The group designs, develops, supports and operates complex IT systems and commercialises a wide range of software products in the field of e-government, using state-of-the-art technologies.

Fundación Valenciaport is an Applied Research, Innovation & Training center providing services to the port and logistics cluster. This initiative of the Port Authority of Valencia has enjoyed the collaboration of notable businesses, universities and institutions from the port community. Since its establishment, it has developed more than 300 projects in 60 countries, primarily Mediterranean nations, as well as from the rest of Europe, Asia and Latin America.

OceanScan-MST is a young and independent company, founded as a spin-off from the Underwater Systems and Technology Laboratory (LSTS) from Porto University. OceanScan-MST mission comprehends the design, development and commercialization of innovative systems for oceanographic surveys, environmental monitoring and underwater inspection applications.

The Portuguese Navy, as the naval branch of the Armed Forces, has as its main mission to participate, in an integrated manner, in the country's military defense. Within the scope of State security and authority, it is responsible for the tasks of maritime security and safeguarding human life at sea, surveillance and inspection, in cooperation with multiple national and international entities.

The Port of Ravenna represents the only port in Emilia-Romagna. By virtue of its strategic geographical position, the Port of Ravenna is characterized as a leader in Italy for trade with the markets of the eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea (almost 40% of the national total excluding coal and petroleum products) and serves an important function for those with the Middle and Far East.

Lavrio Port Authority focuses on constant enhancement of applied security measures and procedures with state-of-the-art security equipment and well-trained personnel.

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy (MMAIP) is a government agency of Greece responsible for managing the nation's maritime and shipping sectors, as well as developing policies concerning the country's numerous islands. The Hellenic Coast Guard (HCG) is a law enforcement corps with military structure under the auspices of the MMAIP. The HCG is a Multi-mission Authority for all sea related activities (except defense) including the surveillance of the Hellenic Maritime Domain and the Search and Rescue at sea.

Timisoara Border Police Territorial Inspectorate is the regional structure, subordinated to the General Inspectorate of Border Police, with competence in the area of 30 km. from the Romanian state border to the interior within the radius of Mehedinti, Caras Severin and Timis counties. It is organized at internal level, on units, offices and compartments specialized on activity domains, with the role of coordination, control and responsibility for the entire activity of the subordinated structures on state border check and surveillance for the purpose of preventing and countering illegal migration, cross-border crimes and ensuring the observance of the state border juridical regime.
