The UnderSec Project was represented at the 15th Anniversary of NMIOTC Conference, held on June 4-5, 2024. 🌊🔥
The conference, titled: “Risks and Challenges in a Dynamic Maritime Domain; Strategy Adaptations, Technology Innovations and the Operational Landscape of the Future”, brought together more than 120 participants from 28 Nations and various organizations, including EU Policy Makers, Navies, Port Authorities, Coast Guards/Port State Controls (PSC), Critical Maritime Infrastructures Operators, Maritime Security Practitioners, Academia and Research Institutions. 🌐
Capt. Ioannis Androulakis (MANIBUS OOD), accounting for Prof. Emmanuel Antonidakis (HMU) presence, presented the UnderSec Project, highlighting its overall vision, capacities, and capabilities, showcasing the individual technologies, modules, and software services that make up the UnderSec system, as well as its potential to enhance underwater security operations and maritime security in general. 🛳️
The presentation sparked significant interest from attendees, particularly from the EU (European Defense Agency, EU Maritime Domain Capability Development), NATO (Special Operation HQ, Maritime Development Division, Maritime Command - Allied Command Operations), and third-country nationals from the military section (i.e., Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Navy and Army). 🌍
The UnderSec Project's potential for collaboration and synergies was emphasized, with attendees expressing interest in monitoring the project's progress and acquiring the final product. The importance of committing to the work programme and actively contributing to the project's success was also stressed. 📊
