On May 17th, 2024, UnderSec was showcased at the 1st Maritime and Technology Conference held at KOSTIS PALAMAS Hall in Athens. The event aimed to explore solutions for advancing digital innovations in shipping, with a focus on cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
Christos Tsabaris, Head of Marine Environmental Radioactivity Laboratory and Sensor Technology, presented the project, highlighting the detection of hazardous materials beneath ship hulls. The discussion centered on improving the surveillance and monitoring of dangerous substances, the early detection and classification of potential threats, and preventing the escalation of security incidents.
This conference provided an excellent opportunity to introduce the ambitious UnderSec project to maritime companies and associations, industry representatives, and research and academic institutions.
