We are pleased to announce that the UnderSec Project was presented at the International Conference on Applied Nuclear Physics 2024 held in Thessaloniki, Greece, from September 23-27, 2024!
With over 150 attendees participating, the conference focused on diverse applications of nuclear physics across energy, health, security, and environmental studies.
The contribution, titled "A New Underwater Nuclear Detection System Integrated in Robotic Vehicles for Nuclear Security Maritime needs," was authored by Christos Tsabaris, Effrosyni Androulakaki, Stylianos Alexakis, and Dionisis Patiris from the Institute of Oceanography at the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research. This innovative research focused on enhancing nuclear security in maritime environments.
The new detection system is designed to be integrated into robotic vehicles, bridging operational gaps in identifying dangerous nuclear objects. The presentation included data from demonstration activities in controlled laboratory environments, showcasing the system's performance in efficiency, stability, and energy resolution.
We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to these important discussions!
