The UnderSec Project was recently showcased during an engaging online thematic dialogue held on November 18, 2024, focusing on the design of the POSEIDON Dashboard for the EU Port Supply Chain Integrity Standard.

This event aimed to refine a preliminary version of the Dashboard, utilising feedback to enhance mechanisms and best practices for combating corruption in port operations. UnderSec partners, Ioannis Androulakis and Ioannis Efstathiou,  from the MANIBUS, contributed to discussions surrounding the Dashboard's visualisation.

The dialogue attracted a multidisciplinary audience of approximately 50 participants, emphasising the collaborative nature of this initiative. A central theme of the presentation was the UnderSec Project's role in fighting corruption among port authorities and officials.

The project introduces an innovative system designed for security surveillance, which aids in early detection of potential threats, supports decision-making, and facilitates reporting. This system is poised to enhance accountability among officials and security operators, minimising opportunities for negligence or manipulation—factors often associated with corruption. The response to UnderSec's perspective was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the project's potential to revolutionise corruption prevention in ports. By leveraging digital systems, UnderSec aims to reduce human error and mitigate risks associated with deliberate negligence or manipulation of maritime surveillance systems.

In addition to this event, two more similar dialogues are planned during the duration of the POSEIDON project, indicating a sustained commitment to addressing corruption in port operations through innovative solutions.
