The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy (MMAIP) is a government agency of Greece responsible for managing the nation's maritime and shipping sectors, as well as developing policies concerning the country's numerous islands. The Hellenic Coast Guard (HCG) is a law enforcement corps with military structure under the auspices of the MMAIP. The HCG is a Multi-mission Authority for all sea related activities (except defense) including the surveillance of the Hellenic Maritime Domain and the Search and Rescue at sea.
